Our Story

The Dealing Deck was founded by 4 teenagers on a mission to educate their peers about healthy ways to cope with stress and break the stigma against mental illness.

It’s devastating to watch our friends and family members struggle with managing their mental health. Considering the minimal availability of affordable resources on the market, we decided to take action. We spent months developing a suitable product in the INCubator Honors program offered at Highland Park High School. After meeting with countless executives, specialists, and peers, we designed a simple deck of cards.

Recognizing the Bravery it Takes to Seek Help

Mental health is rarely seen as a priority for teens, leading to millions of adolescents suffering in silence. We believe a call for help should be celebrated rather shamed.

Since our launch in March of 2020, we have built strong relationships with countless organizations in our community such as CATCH, Simply Bee Counseling, Mental Health America North Shore, Yellow Brick Program, Timberline Knolls, North Suburban Center for Anxiety, Fusion Academy, Response for Teens, Erika’s Lighthouse, Rogers Behavior Health, LEAD, Youth Services of Glenview and Northbrook, and many more to come.

Serving as a Constant Reminder You Are Not Alone.

Although it may feel like a lonely journey, you are loved and cherished by so many people. We like to recognize the endless resources and organizations built around supporting those suffering with mental illness. We continue to spread awareness of mental health and are hopeful for future growth.
